August was a wonderful month at El Hogar, filled with moments of connection, learning, friendship, and community.

From welcoming our Connects friends and sharing everyday moments with our students, to Family Day, activities with our residential students, and the blessing of our new Sonrisas El Hogar Dental Clinic, we have much to be grateful for.

Here are a few highlights from Honduras!

Friendship Carnival
A joyful day of laughter, friendship and time together – helping our students celebrate the community they share at El Hogar.

Sharing Everyday Moments
Our friends from Calvary Episcopal Church shared a special glimpse into everyday life at El Hogar, spending time with our students and experiencing the community that makes El Hogar feel like home.

Discovering Honduras Together
Our Calvary friends visited the Museum for National Identity in Tegucigalpa, learning more about the history and culture of Honduras.

A Blessing for Sonrisas El Hogar
Reverend Gerardo blessed our new dental clinic as we prepare for a new chapter of care and service for our students and community.

An Evening Together
Our residential students gathered around the bonfire for an evening of stories, laughter and the warmth of simply being together.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
A visit to Chiminike gave our residential students a day to explore, discover, have fun and create new memories together.

Celebrating Family Day
Families filled our auditorium for a special day of connection, strengthening the relationship between our students, their families, and El Hogar. 

There was even more happening at El Hogar throughout August, from our Friendship Carnival and residential activities to a visit to Chiminike and special moments with our Connects visitors.
