I am writing to let you know about an exciting opportunity to help the childrenof El Hogar.

Over the past couple of years, we have worked hard to develop robust programs for El Hogar students outside the classroom where so much of a child’s development takes place.

While we have always known that students’ extra-curricular experiences are vital, recently we have begun to invest more attention and resources in this key element of student life.

Whether it is ensuring our girls are fully empowered and integrated into the El Hogar culture, providing the social and emotional support so many of our students need, teaching our students key life skills, equipping our vocational workshops, or simply making sure our students have the chance for some fun and exercise after school, providing our students with a wide ranging, well-staffed, supportive and structured experience outside the classroom is vital to their growth, development and overall well-being. 

Now, there is a generous supporter of El Hogar who has issued a challenge to help us grow these important programs.

From now until July 31, this donor will match every gift to El Hogar dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $50,000. This means a gift of $100 becomes $200, $500 becomes $1,000. And if we can gather enough donations, it would mean more than $100,000 to support the kids at El Hogar.
